Essential Functions
- Provides compassionate and high-quality nursing care by planning, organizing, and directing the nursing functions of patients on the unit.
- Initiates and implements patient care plan.
- Makes nursing assignments appropriate to the skill level of employees.
- Maintains evidence-based standards of patient care.
Responsibilities
- Coordinates and manages patient triage and care activities through telephone, electronic messaging, and limited in-office support.
- Serves as a clinical resource for patients and providers within established nursing guidelines.
- Performs symptom assessment, medication management, prior authorization support, care coordination, patient education, review of diagnostic results, collaboration with providers, and disposition of patient concerns.
- Supports a high-volume ambulatory practice through a combination of telework and on-site coverage, ensuring timely patient access and continuity of care.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor's Degree, associate's degree, or diploma in Nursing from an accredited institution.
- Current Maryland RN licensure or eligibility to obtain Maryland licensure.
- Two to three years of clinical experience, preferably in ambulatory care, primary care, or telephone triage.
- Strong assessment, communication, customer service, and care coordination skills.
- CPR certification required.
Pay
The referenced base salary range represents the low and high end of University of Maryland's Faculty Physician's Inc. salary range for this position. Some candidates will not be eligible for the upper end of the salary range. Exact salary will ultimately depend on multiple factors, which may include the successful candidate's geographic location, skills, work experience, market conditions, internal equity, responsibility factor and span of control, education/training and other qualifications.
