About the role
Provides patient care utilizing the nursing process, ensuring accountability, patient rights, and confidentiality.
Responsibilities
- Involves patients and families in care decisions
- Assesses educational needs
- Documents care plans with goals and outcomes
- Performs hand-offs using safety tools
- Communicates effectively within the team
- Participates in process improvement
- Maintains required competencies and certifications (e.g., BLS, ACLS)
- Participates in professional development
- Adheres to policies
- Delegates tasks appropriately
- Conducts patient rounds
- Interprets diagnostic data
- May cover call or weekend shifts
- Contributes to hospital committees and projects
- Performs additional duties as needed
Qualifications
- Nursing degree (Associate's, Diploma, or BSN)
- Current RN licensure
- BLS certification
- Additional certifications such as ACLS, PALS, or specialty certifications may be required based on the unit
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift 50 lbs
- Ability to stand and walk
- Ability to perform physical tasks including reaching, bending, and kneeling
