Registered Nurse - Full Time - 7AM-7PM

About the Role

The Registered Nurse (RN) I delivers culturally sensitive, developmentally appropriate patient care by applying the nursing process under the direction of the departmental Nursing Director. Responsibilities include assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating care while collaborating with the healthcare team.

Responsibilities

• Assess patient conditions (physical, emotional, age-related) and document findings to develop a nursing care plan in conjunction with medical notes.
• Collaborate with the patient care team to evaluate and monitor the care plan, modifying it as needed based on changes in the patient’s condition.
• Perform basic nursing skills and treatments as prescribed by a physician or indicated by the patient’s condition, using professional judgment to modify care or contact the physician when necessary.
• Prepare or direct the preparation of equipment and assist physicians during examinations and treatments.
• Demonstrate prioritization and decision-making to complete patient assignments within an assigned shift.
• Educate and support patients and families by explaining treatments, procedures, and care plans to reduce fears and aid recovery.
• Conduct regular patient rounds, alone or with physicians, to observe and evaluate symptoms, reactions to treatments, and medications, taking corrective action as needed.
• Maintain accurate patient records and report pertinent information regarding conditions, medications, and treatments.
• Participate in performance improvement studies and integrate these standards into patient care activities.
• Engage in discharge planning to prepare patients and families for release, acting as a liaison between care team members.
• Serve as a clinical leader by implementing nursing concepts, conducting patient conferences, and assisting in the orientation and teaching of student nurses, Nursing Assistants, LPNs, and other personnel.
• Stay current on nursing innovations, developments, new procedures, and techniques to provide quality care.
• Perform duties related to safety, infection control, and performance improvement as part of the organization’s quality care initiatives.
• Present a professional image to colleagues, staff, patients, families, and visitors.
• Attend professional development programs and in-service training to meet continuing education requirements.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Associate’s degree in Nursing from an accredited school of nursing.
• Up to one year of work-related experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
• Current state license as a Registered Nurse, listed in good standing with the state’s Department of Professional Credentialing.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (must be obtained within the orientation period if not current upon hire).
