Registered Nurse (Full Time 35 Hours Weekly)

About the Role

Under the supervision of the Nursing Supervisor, you will expedite daily nursing responsibilities including administering and dispensing medication, patient assessments, intake/admissions, documentation, and other clinical functions to enhance the overall treatment of patients at Root Center for Advanced Recovery. You will maintain all record-keeping and contribute to the overall care of patients.

Responsibilities

• Dispense medication as prescribed by the prescriber and in compliance with applicable regulations.
• Assist with intake/admissions, including completing admission and annual physicals, obtaining and recording patient vitals, collecting laboratory specimens (including phlebotomy), and completing other assigned tasks within scope of practice.
• Complete direct observation of clients prior to dosing, including assessing general physical presentation and mental status to confirm appropriateness for receiving the daily oral dose.
• Collect urinalysis specimens and other samples, review lab results, and inform supervisor of any discrepancies.
• Assume counseling responsibilities in health-related areas, including prenatal care, child and nutritional care, and general hygiene.
• Report changes in patient condition to the provider and/or clinic supervisor.
• Maintain clear and complete documentation of services provided, patient responses, and any changes in condition.

Requirements

• Current active license in the State of Connecticut as a Registered Nurse.
• At least one year of nursing experience with demonstrated ability and sensitivity to work with patients within the scope of this rehabilitation program.
• BSN license preferred.
• Certified Addictions Registered Nurse (CARN) or Psychiatric/Mental Health Nursing certification (or actively pursuing credentialing) is preferred.
• Adult CPR/AED certification is preferred.

Pay

Starting hourly rate: $38.46. Actual pay will be determined based on education, work experience, and, in some instances, certifications. We strive for market alignment and internal equity with our colleagues’ pay.
