Responsibilities

Under the direction of the Chief Nursing Officer/Director of Nursing, Nurse Manager or Charge Nurse, the Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for:

• Utilizing the nursing process while delivering, directing, and supervising care to patients admitted to the nursing unit.
• Planning, coordinating, and providing patient care.
• Interdisciplinary planning, discharge planning, patient and family teaching for post-hospitalization, and accessing community resources.
• Performing other related duties as assigned or requested, including Charge Nurse (ACLS certification required).

Requirements

• Holds a current licensure as a registered nurse (RN) in the state where the hospital resides, or compact licensure if state participates.
• Current BLS certification is required.
• Evidence of ACLS certification is required within 90 days of employment.
• BLS and ACLS certifications must be AHA approved within 90 days of employment.
• Current ACLS certification is required for Charge Nurses.
• One year of inpatient medical-surgical nursing experience preferred but not required.
