Registered Nurse Freestanding Emergency Room
About the role
The Registered Nurse at HCA HealthONE's newest Freestanding Emergency Room at Sloan's Lake coordinates and delivers high quality, patient-centered care in accordance with the nature and specific requirements of the department, and consistent with the scope and standards of practice for the relevant state and specialty.
Responsibilities
- Achieves patient pain management by regularly assessing patient pain and performing appropriate interventions.
- Performs procedures, monitoring, or other functions as directed by medical providers.
- Documents the administration of care in the patient medical record in a timely and thorough manner.
- Responds promptly to patient requests and anticipates their needs.
- Teaches patients, families, and caregivers about their medical conditions, treatment plans, medications, and follow-up measures.
- Trains patients and families/caregivers on non-medicinal follow-up measures, such as healthy diet and exercise, disease prevention, and lifestyle changes.
- Prepares patients and families/caregivers for future self-management.
Qualifications
- Current licensure in the State of Colorado as a Registered Nurse, or current active multistate Registered Nurse license.
- Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS Certification through American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
- Current NRP certification through AAP (American Academy of Pediatrics).
- TNCC (Trauma Nurse Core Course) and ENPC (Emergency Nurse Pediatric Course) certification required within 6 months of hire date.
- Graduate of an accredited school of Nursing. BSN preferred.
- Two or more years of Emergency Room Registered Nurse experience.
Skills
The Registered Nurse must demonstrate advanced knowledge, skills, and understanding of the unique aspects of the population served in the care of his/her patients. Each service requires specialized skills, and the delivery of care is based on the physical, psychosocial, cultural, safety, and learning needs of the individual patient.
