Registered Nurse for Personal Care Managment Evaluation Department

About the Role

This is a great opportunity for a Registered Nurse (RN) to work a flexible schedule in a unique program, Personal Care Management Evaluation Department, that makes a truly wonderful difference in the lives of children and adults with a wide range of disabilities. This position requires working in the community, with travel within Massachusetts and up to a 60-mile radius of your home address in Worcester. A valid driver’s license and reliable transportation are required.

Required: 2-day orientation in Stoughton, MA RN license, and 2 years of recent experience working with direct care of disabled individuals.

Schedule

Full-time, 35 hours per week. Core hours are Monday - Friday, 8:30 AM - 4:30 PM.

Pay

$38 per hour.

Responsibilities

• Perform initial evaluations and annual reevaluations of members applying for personal care services in accordance with MassHealth regulations 130 CMR 422.422(C).
• Submit completed evaluations within the specified timeframe.
• Respond to hours adjustment requests and MassHealth inquiries in a timely manner.
• Learn and adhere to the PCA Program standards.
• Schedule reevaluation visits and update your calendar accordingly.
• Document progress notes in the database promptly.
• Communicate with PCA Evaluation Department Assistants regarding no-shows, no-contacts, hospitalizations, termination requests, and other concerns.
• Submit monthly mileage sheets within the required timeframe.
• Work collaboratively with other members of the PCA Program.
• Communicate with supervisors and office staff when issues arise.
• Interact with Tempus Unlimited, Inc. offices to resolve evaluation-related concerns and support consumer independence.
• Attend monthly staff meetings.
• Report suspicion of fraud to the PCM Management Team.
• Report all suspected abuse or neglect to the appropriate agency (e.g., DPPC, Executive Office of Elder Affairs, or Department of Children and Families).
• Represent the agency professionally and provide culturally sensitive services.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Requirements

• Current Massachusetts RN license in good standing with the Board.
• At least 2 years of recent experience in the direct care of the elderly or disabled population.
• Ability to establish and maintain professional relationships with consumers, family members, co-workers, and community professionals.
• Strong judgment, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to independently organize work and meet deadlines in a busy environment.
• Excellent communication skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to adapt to change with a positive attitude and maintain confidentiality.
• Ability to work efficiently as part of a team.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation for community visits.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree.
• Familiarity with the MassHealth PCA Program.
• Fluency in languages other than English.

Work Environment

This role operates in a professional office and home office environment, routinely using standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, and electronic filing systems. The position involves frequent sitting, standing, bending, stooping, walking, carrying, and lifting objects.
