About the Role

This position applies the nursing process in providing direct and indirect holistic care to patients and their families. The role collaborates with physicians and other health care team members to meet patient needs, delegates aspects of care within the scope of nursing practice, and supervises care provided by other team members.

Responsibilities

  • Performs initial and ongoing assessment of patient and family, documents findings per unit/TriHealth guidelines, and communicates assessment to healthcare providers.
  • Plans care based on assessment, standards of care, and patient-specific outcomes, including short- and long-term goals and discharge planning.
  • Provides a safe, therapeutic environment, maintains patient autonomy and dignity, and responds to emergency situations appropriately.
  • Completes patient assignments and documentation within scheduled timeframes, bases interventions on clinical data, and documents accordingly.
  • Trains and educates staff, acts as a resource in specialty areas, and effectively communicates and executes physician orders.
  • Evaluates the plan of care, documents patient/family response, and collaborates with the healthcare team to revise the plan as needed.
  • Supervises care delegated to other healthcare team members.
  • Performs technical skills according to policy, safely administers medications/treatments, and uses equipment appropriately.
  • Demonstrates organizational responsibilities, including self-improvement, functioning in relief charge roles, and maintaining current knowledge in area of practice.

Requirements

  • Associate's Degree or Diploma in Nursing (new hires required to obtain BSN within 5 years of hire).
  • BLS/CPR certification.
  • Registered Nurse licensure.
  • Knowledge and skills derived from biological, physical, behavioral, social, and nursing sciences to meet complex healthcare needs across the life cycle.
  • Preferred: Membership in a related professional organization.
  • Preferred: More than 1 year full-time or 2 years part-time acute care experience.
  • Preferred: Certification in specialty area.

Schedule

  • Full-Time (72 hours bi-weekly).
  • Day shift from 7 AM – 7 PM.
  • Weekend and holiday rotation.
