Responsibilities

  • Facilitate relationship-centered, compassionate, quality care to patients through competent clinical practice and the application of the healing and science of professional nursing.
  • Support multiple Nursing Departments in filling workforce gaps in short or long-term assignments.
  • Exercise independent judgement in utilizing the nursing process to assess, diagnose, identify outcomes, plan, implement, and evaluate direct patient care.
  • Provide holistic care for patients and families with a wide range of conditions.
  • Identify and recognize changes in normal and abnormal parameters in the patient's physiological, psychological, cultural, developmental, and spiritual needs.
  • Develop and implement a plan individualized to the patient's needs.
  • Evaluate progress toward achieving outcomes.
  • Coordinate care delivery.
  • Provide health teaching and promotion.
  • Consult with interdisciplinary teams to influence the identified plan, enhance abilities, and effect change.
  • Train, educate, and precept nursing students.
  • Lead in the professional practice setting and the profession.
  • Practice in an environmentally safe and healthy manner.
  • Deliver competent care consistent with standards, policies, laws, regulators/accreditation/certifying organizations.
  • Abide by the Code of Ethics for Nurses (ANA 2010).
  • Use applicable technology and software to support and document nursing activities and patient care.
  • Seek out opportunities to improve the quality of patient care delivery through innovative and creative problem solving.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing
  • Registered Nurse (RN) - South Dakota Board of Nursing
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification - American Heart Association (AHA)
  • 5+ years of Registered Nurse experience

  • Knowledge of ANA Standards of Professional Nursing Practice (2010)
  • Ability to collect comprehensive data and analyze it to determine diagnoses or issues
  • Ability to develop and implement a plan individualized to the patient's needs
  • Ability to evaluate progress toward achieving outcomes

$35.00 - $43.75 (Determined by the knowledge, skills, and experience of the applicant.)
