About the Role
Centerpoint Health - Paris, formerly Bourbon Community Hospital, is a 58-bed acute care facility in the heart of the Bluegrass. The medical staff consists of 140 physicians covering 22 specialties. The facility also offers services in Behavioral Health, including a 33-bed inpatient unit with a multi-disciplinary team of psychiatrists, clinical psychologists, therapists, nurses, social workers, mental health technicians, recreation therapists, and Kentucky certified teachers. Certified therapy dogs are utilized in the healing process when applicable.
Float RNs are adaptable professionals with diverse expertise who support nearly all areas of the hospital, adjusting quickly to changing needs. This role provides after-hours leadership, functions as a resource for staff, assists in patient care, and ensures overall quality of care. Reports to the Senior or Chief Nursing Officer or Administrator on Call.
Responsibilities
- Performs plan-of-care interventions, including medication administration, specimen collection, clinical treatments, and related medical care.
- Documents care provided in a timely, accurate manner.
- Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition to the care team, physicians, patients, and families.
- Assists with activities of daily living (hygiene, elimination, nutrition, ambulation).
- Displays initiative and flexibility to float throughout the building to support departments and staff.
- Collaborates across disciplines to coordinate care (transfers, discharges, referrals, psychosocial/spiritual support).
- Assesses learning needs; provides age- and culture-appropriate patient/family education.
- Advocates for the physical and emotional well-being of patients.
- Participates in performance improvement and required education; works other shifts/units as needed and may take on-call assignments.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Current Kentucky or compact state RN license.
- Associate's degree in Nursing from an accredited nursing school (required).
- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (preferred).
- BCLS certification (required); ACLS, PALS, and Handle with Care (preferred).
- Minimum of 2 years bedside RN experience.

Pay
Up to $10,000 sign-on bonus for eligible candidates.
Schedule
Full-time, 6:00 PM – 6:00 AM, rotating weekends.
