Responsibilities
- Maintains competency in OneCHRISTUS Competencies: Leader of Self, Leader of Others, or Leader of Leaders.
- Adapts to flexible assignments within the ministry.
- Reports availability for multiple shifts regularly.
- Provides care according to the nursing process, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation.
- Addresses diverse patient needs, including psychological, emotional, cultural, and social aspects.
- Administers medications and treatments, monitoring for side effects and effectiveness.
- Documents patient history, symptoms, medications, and care provided.
- Evaluates patient progress and adjusts care plans accordingly.
- Ensures accurate patient documentation and adherence to regulatory requirements.

- Utilizes the Nursing Process: Identifies patient needs, develops care plans, implements interventions, and evaluates outcomes.
- Patient Throughput & Patient Flow: Anticipates and manages admissions, discharges, and transfers efficiently.

- Safe Practice/Quality Care/Regulations: Adheres to patient safety guidelines, promotes quality care, and complies with healthcare regulations.
Technical Competencies
- Follows Clinical Policies and Standards: Adapts to and implements organizational policies and procedures.
- Manages Health Information Documentation: Maintains accurate and complete patient records.
- Uses Medical Equipment: Troubleshoots and maintains medical equipment for patient safety.
- Processes Medical Orders: Validates and updates medical orders for patient care.
- Interprets Patient Charts: Reads and interprets patient charts for accurate care.
- Ensures Patient Safety: Implements safety guidelines and addresses potential hazards.
Job Requirements
- Education/Skills: Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years combined experience in Emergency Department and one other specialty, 5 years preferred.
- Licenses, Registrations, or Certifications: BLS, ACLS, TNCC (TX and NM only), PALS required within 30 days of hire.
- License: RN license in the state of employment or compact required.
- Work Schedule: Per Diem, 7AM - 7PM.
