Registered Nurse - Float/Critical Care - Nights

Employment Type: Full time, 12-hour night shift

About the role

St. Mary Medical Center, a member of Trinity Health Mid-Atlantic, is looking for a Registered Nurse to join our Float team. The primary objective of this position is to improve quality. Responsible for the direct and/or indirect care of patients assigned utilizing professional nursing skills and knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Assess learning needs, readiness to learn, and identify actual or potential barriers to learning, incorporating patient education into daily activities based on age, cultural, and spiritual values.
• Document admission assessment/reassessment, plan, interventions, medication use, and monitor its effects and outcomes according to policy.
• Utilize the information management system to enhance communication and document changes in patient condition to all appropriate individuals.
• Prioritize work assignments based on changing situations.
• Communicate transfer of patient responsibility and pertinent information at the bedside and during Interprofessional Rounds.
• Recognize and integrate patient special needs, individualize care, and demonstrate knowledge in abuse recognition and referral.
• Include pain management and supportive care issues in the plan of care.
• Adhere to infection control standards specific to patient care and promote and maintain a safe, clean, and orderly environment.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• PA RN License
• BSN required
• BLS certification
• Minimum of 3 years critical care experience
