Registered Nurse - Float

Position Summary

The Registered Nurse - Float provides direct clinical patient care under the supervision of the unit manager, assessing, planning, and delivering age-appropriate care across multiple units. Responsibilities include supervising staff, ensuring high-quality, safe nursing practices, and managing resources effectively. As part of the float pool, nurses work in various challenging environments such as ICU, acute care, telemetry, emergency department, BHU, and OR, requiring flexibility to work in all designated areas.

Key Duties

• Assess, plan, and implement patient care
• Supervise delegated staff and ensure compliance with care standards
• Work across multiple units, demonstrating flexibility and clinical expertise
• Support quality, safety, and resource management to improve patient outcomes

Qualifications & Skills

• Basic professional knowledge equivalent to a Bachelor's degree
• 1-3 years of nursing experience
• Maryland RN license
• American Heart Association BLS certification; specialty certifications preferred
• Required certifications include BLS, ACLS, PALS depending on the unit
