Registered Nurse - Float

About the role

Join a dynamic nursing team as a Float RN, providing direct patient care across multiple departments including Emergency, Med/Surg, ICU, and potentially the Family Birth unit.

Responsibilities

• Apply medical-surgical nursing standards to enhance patient care and quality of life.
• Build effective relationships with patients and families, advocating for their needs.
• Develop and implement personalized care plans using the nursing process.
• Assess physical, cultural, social, and emotional factors to inform management strategies.
• Collaborate with interprofessional teams to coordinate care, set goals, and evaluate outcomes.
• Educate patients and families on health maintenance and comfort measures.
• Mentor colleagues and promote a positive work environment.
• Use evidence-based practices tailored to patient age and clinical needs.
• Perform point-of-care testing and other assigned duties.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program or equivalent.
• 1–2 years RN experience in critical care settings preferred.
• Current RN license and BLS certification for the respective state.
• Strong communication, assessment, and leadership skills.

Physical demands

Frequent standing, walking, lifting, and data entry, with occasional patient handling.
