Registered Nurse - First Assistant (RNFA)

Qualifications

• Graduate of an approved school of nursing
• Current licensure as a professional registered nurse in Missouri (Graduate nurse must obtain licensure within 3 months of graduation)
• Maintains basic life support validation & ACLS
• Certified in peri-operative nursing (CNOR)
• Credentialed as per hospital requirements

Skills

• Successful implementation of nursing knowledge/process
• Demonstrates skill in scrub and circulating roles
• Demonstrates knowledge of surgical anatomy, physiology, and operative technique related to first assisting
1. Computer skills and communication
• If working as Patient Sitter, BLS and first aid are required

Requirements

• Successful completion of educational preparation specific for RNFA and a supervised clinical component
• Provide services within scope of practice
