Registered Nurse First Assist - OR
Responsibilities
- Performs role of surgical assistant for a variety of surgical procedures under direct supervision of attending surgeon.
- Provides aid in exposure, homeostasis, closure and other interoperative technical functions.
- Affirms patient status, maintains a safe care environment, manages equipment use and delegates/directs care provided by O.R. Technicians, Nursing Assistants and other support personnel.
- Requires on-call coverage.
Qualifications
- Three years RN experience in perioperative nursing.
- Graduate of accredited school of nursing. BSN preferred.
- Successfully completed additional educational preparation specific to the role of the RNFA including a supervised clinical component.
- Currently licensed as a registered professional nurse in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
- Current certification in BLS (AHA) and/or ACLS (AHA).
- Current certification in Perioperative Nursing (CNOR) preferred.
- Knowledge and skill in applying principles of aseptic technique.
- Demonstrates skills in the following intraoperative nursing behaviors: handling tissue, using instruments, providing exposure, providing hemostasis.

Pay
The current compensation range for this role is $44.00 to $60.68. The exact starting compensation to be offered will be determined at the time of selecting an applicant for hire, in which a wide range of factors will be considered, including but not limited to, skillset, years of applicable experience, education, credentials and licensure.
