Full-time, night shift position (72 hours per pay period) from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM. Sign-on bonus eligible.

About the role

The Family Center at Exeter Hospital is comprised of 15 newly renovated LDRP suites offering jacuzzi tubs for hypnobirth and hydrotherapy, a new nursery equipped with 4 sick bays, and a five-bed pediatric unit—all providing private accommodations for patients and family members. Deliveries average 600 annually. Many Family Center staff scrub and circulate for Cesarean Sections.

Orientation is individualized according to your background and level of experience. After completing corporate and nursing orientations, you will be paired with a preceptor from the Family Center. The duration of orientation will be frequently evaluated with your preceptor and nurse manager. In addition to training provided by the staff preceptor, educational opportunities include in-services from the unit-based educator, the lactation consultant, and outreach services from Dartmouth-Hitchcock Hospital. Several Family Center staff are certified as instructors in NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) and PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support), with certification opportunities offered throughout the year.

Responsibilities

  • Provide nursing care in the Family Center, including labor and delivery, postpartum, nursery, and pediatric units.
  • Scrub and circulate for Cesarean Sections as needed.
  • Participate in individualized orientation and ongoing training programs.

Requirements

  • 1 year of Labor and Delivery (L&D) experience.
  • RN license in New Hampshire or any other compact state.
  • BCLS certification required within 30 days of hire.
  • PALS and NRP certification required within 90 days of hire.
  • Fetal Monitoring Certification required within 1 year of hire.
