Registered Nurse - Family Birthing Place

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

• Assesses the physical, psychosocial, and educational needs of the patient.
• Plans and implements nursing care according to patient and family needs.
• Makes appropriate interventions based upon individual patient needs.
• Evaluates patient responses to nursing interventions.
• Assumes personal responsibility for quality patient care, patient satisfaction, environment and professional development.

Required

• Associates or Bachelors degree.
• Graduate of an accredited Nursing program.
• Current State of Michigan Registered Nurse license.
• BLS card from AHA required before start date (valid at least 60 days beyond start date).
• Fetal Monitoring certification (or within six months of hire).
• Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification (or by end of unit orientation).

Preferred

• One year of experience in Labor & Delivery.
• Previously experience with mother/baby and circulation of OR procedures; including DNC, tubal ligation, and C-sections.
• ACLS certification.

Weekend/Holiday Requirements

• Weekend 1 & 3.
• Holiday A.
