Responsibilities
- Directly accountable for the care given to patients in the Emergency Department
- Communicate with the physician about changes in the patients' clinical condition including results of diagnostic studies and symptomatology
- Recognize life threatening situations/changes in conditions and/or responses to treatment and respond quickly and accurately
- Maintain accurate and relevant record of all patient care
- Remain knowledgeable about EMTALA regulations and reporting of child/adult abuse to appropriate agencies
- Actively participate in cost containment and assist in accurate charging for patient services
Qualifications
- Minimum of one year as a staff nurse in an acute care hospital setting; E.R. setting preferred
- Must be able to communicate in English (Speak, Write)
- Current and valid Nevada RN License
- BLS (AHA) certification required
- ACLS (AHA) certification required
- PALS (AHA) certification required
- TNCC (Trauma Nurse Core Course) certification within 12 months of hire preferred
- ENA (Emergency Nurse Association) membership within 12 months of hire preferred
- CEN (Certified Emergency Nurse) certification within 24 months of hire preferred
