Responsibilities

• Directly accountable for the care given to patients in the Emergency Department
• Communicate with the physician about changes in the patients' clinical condition including results of diagnostic studies and symptomatology
• Recognize life threatening situations/changes in conditions and/or responses to treatment and respond quickly and accurately
• Maintain accurate and relevant record of all patient care
• Remain knowledgeable about EMTALA regulations and reporting of child/adult abuse to appropriate agencies
• Actively participate in cost containment and assist in accurate charging for patient services

Qualifications

• Minimum of one year as a staff nurse in an acute care hospital setting; E.R. setting preferred
• Must be able to communicate in English (Speak, Write)
• Current and valid Nevada RN License
• BLS (AHA) certification required
• ACLS (AHA) certification required
• PALS (AHA) certification required
• TNCC (Trauma Nurse Core Course) certification within 12 months of hire preferred
• ENA (Emergency Nurse Association) membership within 12 months of hire preferred
• CEN (Certified Emergency Nurse) certification within 24 months of hire preferred
