Registered Nurse Emergency Services

About the role

We are seeking an Emergency Room RN to provide rapid and skilled care to patients in the emergency department.

Responsibilities

• Assess patients upon arrival to determine the severity of their condition and prioritize care accordingly.
• Follow standardized triage protocols to quickly identify patients who require immediate attention due to life-threatening conditions.
• Provide direct care to patients with a wide range of medical conditions and injuries which may involve administering medications, performing procedures such as wound care or splinting, monitoring vital signs, and managing pain.
• In cases of severe illness or trauma, assist with stabilizing patients and initiating life-saving interventions, including advanced cardiac life support (ACLS), pediatric advanced life support (PALS), and trauma care.
• Manage high-stress and rapidly changing situations effectively, remaining calm, focused, and decisive while providing care to multiple patients simultaneously during busy shifts or mass casualty events.
• Education, experience, training: Current and valid state RN License, current BLS certificate upon hire and maintain current, current ACLS certificate 30 days upon hire and maintain current, current PALS certificate and/or ENPC 30 days upon hire and maintain current, Basic Arrythmia Interpretation within 30 days of hire, Minimum of one year experience as a staff nurse RN in an acute care hospital setting; E.R. setting preferred, Certified Emergency Nurse (CEN) preferred, Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.

Qualifications

• Current and valid state RN License.
• Current BLS certificate upon hire and maintain current.
• Current ACLS certificate 30 days upon hire and maintain current.
• Current PALS certificate and/or ENPC 30 days upon hire and maintain current.
• Basic Arrythmia Interpretation within 30 days of hire.
• Minimum of one year experience as a staff nurse RN in an acute care hospital setting; E.R. setting preferred.
• Certified Emergency Nurse (CEN) preferred.
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.

Skills

Experience as a Registered Nurse in Critical Care, Intensive Care Unit (ICU), Cardiac Care, Telemetry or Emergency Department is encouraged.
