Registered Nurse Emergency Room

About the role

At Bob Wilson Memorial Hospital, the ED is a 5-room department that stabilizes trauma patients for transfer, provides outpatient IV therapy, and offers wound care. It also handles overflow from rural health clinics and cares for patients with general issues like migraines, appendectomy, abdominal pain, flu, and pneumonia. The department offers a flexible schedule allowing employees to cross-train between med/surg units.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate, communicate, and collaborate with the healthcare team and patient/family to meet physical, emotional, and spiritual needs.
• Use the nursing process to ensure optimal health, well-being, and safety of patients.
• Assume responsibility and accountability for patient care.

Requirements

• One year RN experience
• Nursing skills and knowledge base specific to specialty
• RN License required; Current state nursing licenses or valid RN license from a participating state in the National Licensure Compact

Qualifications

• Associates Degree in Nursing required; Nursing Diploma or by endorsement
• Bachelor's Degree in Nursing preferred
• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing required for new graduates, preferred for experienced RNs
