Registered Nurse - Emergency Department - Nights

Saint Francis Hospital, a member of Trinity Health Mid‑Atlantic, is seeking experienced Registered Nurses to join the team in our Emergency Department. The Emergency Department is a Level III Trauma, 27‑bed unit serving the Wilmington community and Northern New Castle County. It is the first and only Geriatric‑certified Emergency Department in Delaware. Our management team values work‑life balance, professional growth, and comradery.

Schedule

Full‑time Night Shift (7:00 pm – 7:30 am) with every third weekend and rotating holidays.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to hospital nursing practice standards, demonstrating appropriate assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care.
• Assist emergent patients and document accordingly on the Emergency Room nursing tool.
• Identify patient needs based on objective data and follow through with appropriate documentation.
• Implement appropriate nursing actions for each identified patient.
• Make decisions that reflect both knowledge of facts and sound judgment.
• Discuss planned patient care and expected outcomes with patients and/or family members and document the discussion.
• Utilize a multidisciplinary approach to facilitate delivery of patient care.

Qualifications

• ASN required; BSN preferred, from an accredited school of nursing.
• Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the State of Delaware.
• Previous ER and/or acute care experience required.
• BLS and ACLS certification required; must obtain PALS within 6 months of employment.
