Registered Nurse - Emergency Department - F/T Nights

About the role

The Registered Nurse at Hackensack Meridian Health is responsible for delivering high-quality, evidence-based patient care. They assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care for a diverse range of patients under the guidance of an interdisciplinary team.

Responsibilities

• Collects and analyzes comprehensive patient data to inform care plans.
• Develops and updates patient care plans based on assessment findings.
• Communicates with patients and families to ensure they understand their care plan and next steps.
• Administers medications accurately and documents all care actions.
• Coordinates patient discharge planning to ensure smooth transitions to home or other facilities.
• Evaluates patient progress towards achieving care goals.
• Adapts care plans based on patient responses and clinical observations.
• Identifies and addresses ethical concerns in the care setting.
• Learns and maintains necessary certifications and competencies to stay current with best practices.

Qualifications

• A minimum of an Associate's Degree in Nursing or Diploma in Nursing.
• Currently licensed as a Registered Nurse in the state where employed.
• BLS/CPR certification within 60 days of hire.
• At least six months of relevant nursing experience or participation in the Nurse Residency Program.
• Ability to learn quickly and adapt to changing patient needs.
• Strong focus on teamwork, ongoing education, and patient-centered care.
• National Certification in area of specialty preferred.
