Registered Nurse - Emergency Department (Days)

About the role

Utilizes the nursing process for assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation to provide safe, therapeutic care. Functions as a member of the interdisciplinary and nursing teams; carries out established nursing procedures and performs related duties as required; performs nursing care for patients with more complex needs with assistance and supervision. Assists with the management of patient care administered by other members of the nursing team.

Responsibilities

• Perform nursing assessments, planning, implementation, and evaluation for patient care.
• Provide safe and therapeutic care to patients with more complex needs under supervision.
• Assist in managing patient care delivered by other nursing team members.
• Function as part of the interdisciplinary and nursing teams.

Requirements

• At least 3 years of recent RN experience in an Emergency Department (not in a floating capacity).
• Flexibility to orient and work at all UCSF Medical Center locations.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

• Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the State of California.
• Current healthcare provider CPR certification.
• Current healthcare provider PALS certification.
• Current healthcare provider ACLS certification.

Preferred Qualifications

• CEN, TNCC, or ATCN certification.
• NIHSS certification.

Pay

The final salary and offer components are subject to additional approvals based on UC policy. Placement within the salary range is dependent on factors including work experience and internal equity within this position classification at UCSF. For positions represented by a labor union, placement within the salary range will be guided by the rules in the collective bargaining agreement.
