Registered Nurse - Emergency Department

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver age-appropriate care
  • Communicate effectively with patients and families
  • Ensure safety through accurate medication and IV administration
  • Utilize the nursing process for quality patient care
  • Maintain confidentiality
  • Promote a therapeutic environment
  • Support educational efforts for patients and families
  • Take accountability for performance, professional growth, and team building

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited nursing program
  • Current Texas nursing license
  • Basic Life Support certification
  • BSN preferred
  • At least 12 months of RN experience or completed a Nurse Residency Program preferred
  • Knowledgeable about hospital policies and standards of care

Skills

  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and team-building skills
  • Ability to work with confidential material
  • Adaptability to a high-tech, dynamic environment

Work Environment

Indoor hospital setting with physical demands including standing, moving, lifting, and handling hazardous materials. Must be able to work with blood and body fluids, and manage environmental hazards.
