About the role

The Registered Nurse (RN) performs competent nursing care using the critical-thinking model known as the nursing process. Standards of practice include assessment, diagnosis, outcomes identification, planning, implementation, coordination of care, teaching, health promotion, and evaluation. Professional performance standards include ethics, culturally congruent practice, communication, collaboration, leadership, education, evidence-based practice, quality, evaluation, resource utilization, and environmental health. The RN possesses clinical knowledge and skills specific to the emergency department.

Primary duties include assessing and admitting patients, conducting rounding checks, administering medications, communicating with family members, and overseeing the overall care of patients. Teamwork is a key aspect of this role, with a focus on delivering exceptional patient care.

Responsibilities

  • Assess and admit patients in the emergency department.
  • Conduct rounding checks and administer medications.
  • Communicate with family members regarding patient care.
  • Oversee and coordinate the overall care of patients.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure high-quality patient care.
  • Adhere to nursing standards of practice and professional performance.

Requirements

  • Emergency department (ED) experience strongly preferred; RNs with acute care floor nursing experience will be considered.
  • New graduates will be considered.
  • Meets and maintains requirements defined by specific specialty, including ACLS, BLS, PALS, and NIHSS.

Qualifications

  • RN Diploma, ADN, BSN, or MSN from an accredited program.
  • Valid RN license to work in the State of Virginia.
  • BLS certification required within 90 days of hire.

Pay

Up to $20,000 sign-on bonus.
