Registered Nurse - Electrophysiology Lab - Per Diem

About the Role

This part-time position in our Cardiovascular Institute offers a strong orientation program and opportunities for continued education and growth in the growing field of Electrophysiology. You will work with state-of-the-art technology across 2 labs and 1 procedure room, performing procedures such as tilt table testing, implantation of loop recorders, pacemakers, internal cardiac defibrillators, electrophysiology studies with cryoablation, and ablation utilizing different mapping systems. Collaborating with a team of credentialed electrophysiologists, you will provide inpatient and outpatient procedures Monday through Friday, delivering comprehensive interdisciplinary care for stable and critically ill patient populations.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate, communicate, and facilitate optimal provision of care through computerized and/or digital platforms supporting daily management of care.
• Assess, plan, implement, coordinate, monitor, and evaluate the patient's plan of care from admission to discharge.
• Utilize clinical knowledge, critical thinking skills, and principles of case management and adult education to coordinate, implement, and support the plan of care.
• Monitor quality metrics specific to the department and ensure complete and accurate documentation in the patient record.
• Ensure quality care is rendered to all patients in accordance with New York Regulatory Agencies, National Standards of Practice, and Nursing and Clinical Service standards of care and practice.
• Maintain current knowledge of basic health care economics, trends, and reimbursement methodologies, applying this knowledge to daily practice.
• Recognize situations requiring immediate intervention and act accordingly.
• Continue professional development and apply knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to each patient.

Requirements

• Graduation from an accredited school of nursing and current licensure in the State of New York.
• Baccalaureate Degree in the Science of Nursing (BSN) preferred, according to NYS requirements.
• Specialty credentialing and educational degree according to clinical nursing practice specialty area preferred.
• Maintain all licensures and certifications according to NYS regulations and specialty area requirements.
• Participate in continuing education and update knowledge and skills related to specific areas of expertise.

Graduate Nurses (GN’s) or Registered Nurses (RN’s) with less than 1 year of experience should apply to the Graduate Nurse Residency positions.

Pay

Pay Range: $39.90 - $55.85 per hour. Pay is based on experience, skills, and education. Exempt positions under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) will be paid within the base salary equivalent of the stated hourly rates. The pay range may vary based on location.
