Registered Nurse - Device Clinic - RN

Responsibilities

  • Coordination of nursing care, including direct patient care, patient/family education, and transitions of care.
  • Supports professional nursing practice across practice settings and across the continuum of care to meet the needs of the patient and family.
  • Functions within the Mayo Clinic Nursing Professional Practice Model, including accountability for planning, implementing, evaluating, and communicating all phases of nursing care for assigned patients.
  • Provides leadership through activities such as preceptor role, informal and formal leadership roles, and quality improvement efforts.
  • Delegates patient care according to skill level, experience, patient acuity, fiscal accountability, and availability of resources.
  • Possesses excellent communication skills; is skilled in mentoring and teaching; and may participate on committees or projects.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of a baccalaureate nursing program, as recognized by ACEN, CCNE, or NLN CNEA.
  • If not from an accredited program, at least one year of RN experience in an applicable care setting or one year of LPN experience at Mayo Clinic is required.
  • One year of RN experience in cardiovascular nursing preferred.
  • Five years of RN experience in cardiovascular nursing, including EP Lab, Cardiac ICU, Cardiac Progressive Care/Telemetry, or Device Clinic experience.
  • Prior experience with electronic medical records.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including days, evenings, nights, holidays, weekends, and on-call.
  • Demonstrated leadership, effective communication, and excellent critical thinking skills.
  • ACLS/BLS required upon hire.
  • Strong ECG skills.
  • The RN should be able to function independently and desire a position that requires a constant learning curve.
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written).
  • Experience working in a team environment.
  • Computer skills required, prior experience with electronic medical record systems preferred.
  • Ability to adapt to unpredictable situations within the work setting.
  • Current RN license by applicable state requirements.
  • Az - Maintains Basic Life Support (BLS) competency.
