Registered Nurse - CVU - Nights
Full-time, night shift position (36 hours per week, 7:00 pm – 7:30 am) with every third weekend and rotating holidays. $10,000 sign-on bonus for eligible candidates.
About the role
Saint Francis Hospital, a member of Trinity Health Mid-Atlantic, is seeking experienced Registered Nurses to join the Cardiovascular Unit (CVU) floor with the possibility to cross-train in the ICU. The CVU is a 30-bed unit serving the Wilmington community and Northern New Castle County, caring for patients with cardiac diagnoses requiring vasoactive drips, respiratory compromise, DKA, vascular conditions, sepsis, overdoses, and more. Continuing education is provided on relevant topics, as well as Education Forums with our intensivist. Management values work-life balance, professional growth, and camaraderie.
Responsibilities
- Adhere to hospital nursing practice standards, demonstrating appropriate assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care.
- Complete a Nursing Assessment form on each patient within 24 hours.
- Identify patient needs based on objective data and follow through with appropriate documentation.
- Implement appropriate nursing actions for each patient.
- Make decisions reflecting knowledge of facts and sound judgment.
- Discuss planned patient care and expected outcomes with the patient and/or family, and document accordingly.
- Utilize a multidisciplinary approach to facilitate patient care delivery.
- Instruct and document patient follow-up care and activities in preparation for transfer or discharge.
- Evaluate the patient’s and/or significant other’s understanding of instructions.
Requirements
- Associate Degree in Nursing required; Bachelor Degree in Nursing highly preferred.
- Active RN Licensure in the State of Delaware.
- BLS Certification required.
- At least two years of step-down or PCU experience.
- Must obtain ACLS Certification within 3 months of hire.
