About the role
As a Registered Nurse in the Cath Lab, your voice influences patient care through open, collaborative relationships with your manager and formal opportunities via hospital councils and national nursing initiatives. You'll help shape decisions that elevate patient outcomes and the future of nursing.
Our team of expert Cath Lab clinicians diagnoses cardiac conditions and performs coronary and peripheral interventions. The Cardiac Cath Lab operates 24/7, offering advanced and innovative technology. Our staff is extensively trained in all areas of cardiac diseases.
Responsibilities
- Assume responsibility for routine care and maintenance of radiological equipment.
- Provide quality patient care, maintain required cath lab competencies, and assist in all aspects of invasive or non-invasive cardiac procedures.
- Explain procedures to patients to alleviate anxiety.
- Work within a team environment and assume “on call” assignments, returning to the facility within 30 minutes for emergency cases.
- Handle emergency situations during high-risk procedures while maintaining discretion and confidentiality.
- Interact with physicians during routine procedures, emergencies, and assist with interpretation and recording of data.
- Provide primary and critical patient care, administer medications per physician’s orders, and manage pre- and post-procedure processes, including recovery, outpatient appointments, discharge instructions, medication, lifestyle, activities, and care of the surgical site.
Requirements
- Graduate of an Accredited School of Nursing.
- Current Colorado Registered Nurse License.
- Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS Certification through the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
- 2-3 years of experience in a specialty unit (Critical Care, ED, PACU, or Radiology) preferred.
- Proficiency in cardiology nursing procedures and skills, including cardiac dysrhythmia interpretation preferred.
- Knowledge of cardiovascular anatomy, physiology, hemodynamics, and rhythm interpretation preferred.
