Registered Nurse CSU

About the Role

Pine Belt Mental Healthcare Resources has an opening for a Registered Nurse at our Crisis Stabilization Unit (CSU) in Gulfport, MS. This position plays a significant role in coordinating medical services and providing nursing needs for adults suffering from serious mental illness. The RN works in conjunction with the mental health care team to provide safe and effective treatment to consumers during times of crisis, promoting a positive environment to help them return to their community. The CSU is a 24-hour facility open 365 days per year.

Responsibilities

• Crisis de-escalation
• Monitors individuals receiving medications
• Provides coordination and monitoring of psychiatric schedule
• Provides emergency services as needed
• Provides general psychotherapeutic nursing and educational interventions to clientele

Requirements

• Minimum of an Associate Degree in Nursing
• Mississippi RN Licensure
• Independent work ability
• Crisis de-escalation skills
• Experience working in a crisis unit preferred
• Previous experience in behavioral health preferred
• High School Diploma (or equivalent)

Schedule

Available as PRN (as-needed) and full-time (FT) positions. The CSU operates 24 hours a day, 365 days per year.
