Registered Nurse- Critical Care Stepdown Day/Nights

About the Role

Join our Critical Care Step Down Unit, 7 West, at MetroHealth Main Campus. This role involves caring for patients with conditions such as Congestive Heart Failure, COPD, DKA, and Sepsis. The unit is equipped with enhanced technology including patient lifts, hands-free communication, virtual whiteboards, and continuous telemetry monitoring.

You will work alongside Patient Care Nursing Assistants (PCNAs), Nurse Interns, Providers, and therapists (PT, OT) in a 14-bed unit.

Responsibilities

• Interpret EKGs
• Provide Central Line care
• Operate rescue equipment such as Bi-pap, High Flow Oxygen, Trach/Vents
• Assist with bedside procedures (e.g., endoscopies, bronchoscopies)
• Apply critical thinking, delegation, and time management skills

Schedule

Full-time, 48 hours bi-weekly. Shifts are 7:00 AM–7:00 PM or 7:00 PM–7:00 AM, including rotating weekends and holidays.

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited (or accreditation-seeking) school of professional nursing
• Current Registered Nurse licensure in the State of Ohio
• Current AHA Basic Life Support for Healthcare Provider certification (or obtained within 90 days of hire)
• Current ACLS certification (or obtained within 6 months of hire)

Preferred Qualifications

• BSN degree
• Professional certification recognized by the Magnet Association
