About the role
The Direct Patient Care Registered Nurse- DPC RN is a licensed professional responsible for delivering patient-family centered care in a culturally competent manner. This role requires proficiency and mastery of core competencies such as assessment, technical skills, communication, critical thinking, interpersonal skills, planning, intervention, evaluation, flexibility, organizational skills, professional accountability, leadership, and service.
Responsibilities
- Deliver patient-family centered care in a culturally competent manner utilizing and promoting evidence based practice standards of quality, safety and service.
- Assess patients to identify health problems and needs, develop and implement nursing care plans, and evaluate outcomes.
- Provide technical skills necessary for patient care, including administering medications, performing procedures, and monitoring patient responses.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive care.
- Critically think about patient conditions and develop appropriate interventions.
- Interact with patients and families to provide emotional support and maintain a positive relationship.
- Plan and organize care to meet patient needs, ensuring continuity and coordination of care.
- Evaluate the effectiveness of care provided and make adjustments as needed.
- Show flexibility and adaptability to changing situations and environments.
- Organize work tasks efficiently to meet patient care needs and departmental goals.
- Exercise professional accountability by adhering to ethical standards and maintaining confidentiality.
- Lead and mentor other nurses to improve patient care outcomes.

Requirements
- Associate’s degree in Nursing or Bachelor’s degree in Nursing.
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS).
- ONS/ONCC Chemotherapy Immunotherapy Certificate.
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP).
- Basic Life Support (BLS).
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS).
- Registered Nurse (RN) license.
- Experience: 1 year acute Rehab, Med Surg Tele, and/or Ortho experience.
- Additional qualifications: BLS required, completion of preceptor class within 12 months of becoming competent by department leadership for independent practice.
- May require additional certifications such as ACLS, BLS, PALS, NRP, or ONS-Chemotherapy/Biotherapy Provider Card.
Qualifications
- Education: Associates degree in Nursing or Bachelors degree in Nursing.
- Licenses & Certifications: Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), ONS/ONCC Chemotherapy Immunotherapy Certificate, Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP), Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), Registered Nurse (RN) license.

Pay
The estimated pay range for this position is $34.71 to $46.84 / hour depending on experience.
