Registered Nurse Clinical Program VAD Coordinator
Job Responsibilities
Patient Care Coordination: Manages and coordinates care for cardiac patients with ventricular assist devices (VADs) across the continuum—from post-implant education through discharge and long-term follow-up.
Education & Training: Provides comprehensive education and support to VAD patients, families, and caregivers, ensuring they understand device management, lifestyle modifications, and emergency procedures.
Clinical Monitoring & Management: Monitors patients for device function, complications, and overall clinical status, collaborating closely with the multidisciplinary team to optimize outcomes.
Regulatory Compliance & Documentation: Ensures adherence to institutional protocols, manufacturer guidelines, and regulatory standards while maintaining accurate and timely documentation in patient records and databases.
Minimum Requirements
- Licensure / Certification / Registration: BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
- Registered Nurse credentialed from the Indiana Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.
- Advanced Life Support preferred. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
- Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing OR required professional licensure at time of hire.
Additional Preferences
- Bachelor's in Nursing
- Two years of bedside nursing experience required.
- Cardiac nursing experience strongly preferred.
