About the Role

Join our dynamic Nursing Education Program as a Part-Time Nurse Instructor at Pima Medical Institute! We are seeking an active Registered Nurse to guide and mentor the next generation of healthcare professionals through clinical, lab, and classroom instruction. This 14-hour per week daytime role is tailored for practicing RNs who want to share their clinical expertise while maintaining their current healthcare position.

Responsibilities

  • Clinical Supervision & Placement:
    • Instruct and supervise nursing students during clinical rotations and lab practice.
    • Arrange suitable clinical learning experiences tailored to student growth needs.
    • Assess student performance and progress against established professional nursing standards.
    • Maintain active clinical employment to keep instruction aligned with modern healthcare protocols.
  • Instructional Delivery & Student Mentorship:
    • Deliver engaging instruction in nursing methods, clinical techniques, and lab coursework.
    • Assist fellow faculty members in classroom and laboratory settings.
    • Model exceptional bedside manner, ethics, and communication in all professional interactions.
  • Academic Support & Administration:
    • Monitor academic progress weekly and develop Academic Success Plans alongside the Clinical Director for struggling students.
    • Support the continuous evaluation and updating of the Nursing Education Program objectives.
    • Keep precise attendance logs, attend faculty meetings, and address student inquiries promptly.

Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited USDE or CHEA program.
  • Licensure: Current, active Arizona RN license (or Compact/Multi-State privilege to practice in Arizona).
  • Clinical Experience: Minimum of three (3) years of direct patient care experience as an RN. Must currently work in an active clinical practice setting.
  • Technical Proficiency: Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and educational platforms.
  • Communication: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Minimum of one (1) year of teaching experience or administration in a nursing education program leading to licensure.

Pay

$37.51 – $50.00 per hour

Schedule

Daytime shifts, 14 hours per week
