Registered Nurse Clinical Director - Perioperative Services
About the role
The Clinical Director provides administrative support and direction to operational and clinical functions, ensuring the delivery of quality, cost-effective care that meets medical standards and complies with all regulatory requirements. They support quality improvement efforts and standardization across departments and divisions through effective collaboration with hospital staff and physicians, applying TQM principles.
Responsibilities
- Supports the organization's strategic direction through effective hospital administration.
- Recommends and implements hospital policy and practices concerning legislation, regulatory requirements, changing business environments, and community needs.
- Provides quality customer service, participates in performance improvement efforts, and demonstrates a commitment to team work and cooperation.
Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing required. Master’s degree required or active pursuit within six months of assuming position.
- Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the State of . BLS required. Certified Prevention Intervention annual education preferred. The Certification within area of specialty preferred. NRNNP,C or RNCNS,C registry unencumbered for Clinical Director in Oncology.
- Minimum 5-7 years combined clinical and management experience in nursing required. Solid understanding of TQM, organizational vision and values; strong interpersonal, communication and budget/financial management skills required. Proficiency in Clinical Applications preferred at time of hire; incumbents within position will be trained appropriately and then skill will be required for this position within 30-60 days from date of hire.
Performance Expectations
Demonstrates the technical competencies as established on the Assessment and Evaluation Tool.
Work Environment
Potential for exposure to blood borne pathogens along with infectious diseases. This position requires sitting at a desk or computer a majority of the day with frequent walking and standing. Some departments require the ability to distinguish colors.

This position reports to department leadership and supervises incumbents as assigned.
