About the role

The RN Charge Nurse provides leadership and clinical expertise during their shift, coordinating staffing and resources to ensure optimal patient care.

Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive assessments
• Develop individualized care plans collaboratively with the interdisciplinary team
• Evaluate patient responses to interventions
• Delegate tasks and manage operational and clinical functions
• Ensure staff accountability while promoting professionalism and adherence to legal, ethical, and regulatory standards
• Mediate conflicts
• Guide staff development
• Support quality improvement initiatives
• Activate emergency protocols when needed

Qualifications

• Current RN license
• BLS certification
• Relevant clinical experience
• Mentoring skills
• BSN (or obtaining one within four years)
