About the role
The Lactation Consultant (LC) functions to enhance the normal process of lactation and to assess, prevent, and manage lactation problems. The LC is a health care provider who is qualified to provide education and consultation for routine and special circumstances related to breastmilk feeding.

- Supports the Keystone 10 initiatives by promoting “The 10 Steps to Successful Breastfeeding” and adheres to the international code of marketing of breastmilk substitutes.

WellSpan York Hospital Built on a solid 140-year legacy of providing high-quality, high-volume, community-based care, WellSpan York Hospital, the largest of WellSpan’s eight hospitals, is a 596-bed acute care community teaching hospital that employs nearly 5,000 people, making WellSpan the largest employer in York County.
