Responsibilities

• Implementing the Nursing Process based on established Standards of Practice and ensuring all patient care policies and procedures are adhered to in accordance with GHMC-Catskills/Garnet Health Hospital policies, the Nurse Practice Act, and the New York State Licensure requirements.
• Exhibiting critical thinking, effectively organizing and triage/prioritizing accordingly, and implementing evidence-based nursing.

Qualifications

• Minimum Education: Baccalaureate degree in Nursing preferred.
• Minimum Experience: Previous Critical Care experience or a minimum of 1 year medical-surgical experience preferred.
• Required Certification/Registration:
  • Currently licensed and registered in NY State to practice as a registered professional nurse.
  • CCRN and/or ANCC-Med/Surg certification preferred.
  • Successful completion of BLS Provider Course prior to being released from unit orientation. BLS renewal not required once ACLS is obtained.
  • Successful completion of cardiac arrhythmia interpretation course within 3 months of hire.
  • Successful completion of hospital crisis prevention training within 3 months of hire and annually thereafter.
  • ACLS required within 6 months of hire.
  • Successful completion of Continuous Ambulatory Peritoneal Dialysis (CAPD) class within 6 months of hire.

Pay

Compensation for this role is $48.50-$74.60. Garnet Health System provides a compensation range to comply with the New York State law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits. When determining a team member's compensation and/or rate, several factors may be considered as applicable (e.g., location, specialty, service line, years of relevant experience, education, credentials, negotiated contracts, budget and internal equity).
