Registered Nurse, CBDC Inpatient Unit (0.9 FTE, nights))

As an integral member of the Health Care Team, the RN functions within the Scope of Practice as defined by the State, the ANA Scope and Standards for Pediatric Nursing Practice, and adheres to Seattle Children's policies/procedures and guidelines of care. Responsible for providing safe, family-centered patient care.

Responsibilities

• Using the Nursing Care Process, assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care in a collaborative method with the patient, patient's family, significant others, and members of the health care team.
• May supervise and delegate tasks to Nurse Technicians, Licensed Practical Nurses, Certified Medical Assistants, Certified Nursing Assistants, and others as defined by the State Administrative Code.
• Incorporate strategic initiatives (e.g., Continuous Performance Improvement, Value Based Behaviors, Error Prevention, Patient Safety, Workforce Community and Connection) into daily work to support Seattle Children's strategic goals.

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• Current Washington State RN License, or other current state license that the RN is required to work in.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers at time of hire, unless the incumbent possesses a current appropriate Life Support Education required for their practice area. BLS must be maintained until the appropriate Life Support Education is obtained.
• Pediatric Emergency Assessment, Recognition and Stabilization (PEARS), and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) will be accepted in lieu of BLS for Healthcare Providers. ACLS will not be accepted as a substitute.
• Nurses in specific areas must obtain PEARS within 6 months of employment and maintain it: Acute Care Float, Apheresis Services, Bellevue, Cancer Care Unit, Dialysis, Hematology & Oncology Clinic, Home Care Infusion Therapy, Immunology, Immunotherapy, Infusion, Medical Unit, Psychiatric Unit, Rehabilitation Unit, Research nurses in Cancer Care and CCTR, Surgical Unit, Urgent Care (all locations), Vascular Access Services.
• Nurses in the following areas must obtain a Chemotherapy Biotherapy Provider Card from APHON within 6 months of employment and maintain it: Acute Care Float (Nurse Travelers exempt), Cancer Care Unit, Hematology/Oncology, Infusion.

Preferred Qualifications

• Pediatric health care nursing experience.
• GCP (Good Clinical Practice) Training.

Pay

$51.60 - $91.30 per hour. This compensation range is based on full-time employment (2080 hours worked per calendar year). Offers are determined by multiple factors including equity, skills, experience, and expertise, and may vary within the range provided.
