Registered Nurse - Cardiovascular Operating Room

About the role

The Cardiovascular OR RN provides specialized nursing care in the surgical setting, collaborating with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and team members to ensure safe, high-quality outcomes. They assess patients' needs, develop individualized treatment plans, and adhere to evaluation, treatment, and documentation guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Recognize and address patients' physical and psychological needs
• Maintain continuity of care
• Assist with patient assessments upon admission
• Operate complex equipment with manual dexterity
• Communicate effectively with patients, families, and colleagues, especially during emergencies
• Transport patients and supplies safely
• Deliver compassionate patient care and ensure safety standards
• Participate in team collaboration
• Maintain accurate documentation
• Perform physical activities such as lifting, bending, walking, and standing for extended periods

Requirements

• BSN from an accredited program
• Current Colorado RN license or equivalent
• BLS certification (ACLS/NRP/PALS as appropriate)
• At least one year of cardiothoracic nursing experience preferred
• Ability to read labels, operate monitors, and navigate busy environments
