Role Overview
This position involves providing direct patient care in a cardiothoracic step-down unit, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation of nursing care according to established standards.
Responsibilities
- Promote patient and family-centered care, educating on illness management, post-treatment care, and medication administration.
- Participate in activities enhancing patient safety, quality, and regulatory compliance while engaging in professional development.
- Develop, implement, and document individualized care plans with clear goals, collaborating with the healthcare team and patients or families.
- Assess physical, psychosocial, and emotional needs, considering patient preferences, cultural, spiritual, and population-specific factors.
- Maintain safety awareness as this role is safety-sensitive, working alertly and securely at all times.
Qualifications & Skills
- Minimum education: Nursing Diploma or Associate’s Degree in Nursing; preferred Bachelor’s Degree.
- Licensure: Valid RN license.
- No prior experience required; preferred experience includes less than 2 years or higher education in nursing.
- Strong assessment, communication, and critical thinking skills are essential.
