Registered Nurse - Cardiac Specialty Unit

Full-time position in the Cardiac Specialty Unit.

Schedule

• 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM (night shift)
• 72 hours per pay period
• Selected candidate will work weekends 1 and 3 of the 28-day schedule, plus the Holiday B rotation

Responsibilities

• Assess the physical, psychosocial, and educational needs of the patient
• Plan and implement nursing care according to patient and family needs
• Make appropriate interventions based on individual patient needs
• Evaluate patient responses to nursing interventions
• Assume personal responsibility for quality patient care, patient satisfaction, environment, and professional development
• Maintain a safe environment for patients, families, and staff
• Perform other related job duties as assigned

Qualifications

• Required: Graduate of a Nursing program
• Current State of Michigan Registered Nurse license
• BLS certification from American Heart Association (AHA), American Red Cross (ARC), or Canadian equivalent (required before start date and valid at least 60 days beyond start date)
• ACLS required by end of unit orientation for CCL, PACU, ENDO, IR, ICU, ED, CDU, CSS, CSU, Ambulatory Surgery, and the Step-Down Unit
• NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification required by end of unit orientation for PEDS
• Preferred: Bachelor of Science in Nursing
• Wound Care Certification (WCC/WOCN/CWCA) preferred if working in Wound Care Center (must be obtained within 12 months of hire date)
• One year of related specialty care experience preferred for Cardiac Cath Lab, OR/PASS (Post Anesthesia Care Unit), IR (Interventional Radiology), ICU, Endo, or Ambulatory Surgery
