Registered Nurse Cardiac Rehabilitation

Department: Cardiac Rehabilitation
Shift’s Available: Variable
Employment Type: Per Diem (PD/PRN)
Hours: 8-hour shift – 8:00am to 4:30pm
Location: Providence Medical Center – Kansas City, KS

Responsibilities

• Patient Assessment: Evaluate patients' health status, vitals, and readiness for exercise
• Developing Care Plans: Collaborate with cardiologists and exercise physiologists to create individualized rehabilitation plans
• Supervising Exercise Sessions: Monitor patients during physical activity, ensuring safety and appropriate intensity levels
• Education & Counseling: Teach patients about heart-healthy living, medication management, nutrition, smoking cessation, and stress reduction
• Making Progress: Track patient outcomes and adjust care plans based on response to therapy
• Emergency Response: Be prepared to respond to cardiac emergencies during exercise sessions

Qualifications

• Education and Work Experience: Bachelor Degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred. Active state Registered Nursing (RN) License; required. Current BCLS (AHA), ACLS certificate upon hire and maintain current required.
• One (1) year clinical experience in a Cardiovascular Lab doing cardiac work or in a Critical Care area; required.

About the Role

Candidates must have experience in the Cath Lab, Interventional Radiology, ICU or ER, to move forward in this position.
