About the role
The role of a Clinical Nurse III (CN III) is to deliver comprehensive, high-level care to complex patients, utilizing advanced assessment, technical skills, and critical thinking. This role demands advanced clinical skills, leadership ability, and commitment to professional growth within a regulated healthcare environment.
Responsibilities
- Providing precise documentation of nursing interventions
- Patient education
- Administering medications
- Performing skin tests
- Phlebotomy
- Initiating IV access
- Observing and adjusting care plans based on patient responses
- Collaborating with interdisciplinary teams
- Ensuring patient safety with cultural and developmental considerations
- Serving as a mentor
- Participating in quality improvement initiatives
- Leading clinical projects
- Acting as charge nurse
Qualifications
- Associate degree in nursing (bachelor’s preferred)
- At least 3 years of relevant acute care experience
- At least 1 year in a Clinical Nurse II role
- Valid RN license
- BLS certification
- ANCC specialty certification such as OCN or BMTCN
