About the role

The inpatient psychiatric unit at Henry Ford Wyandotte Hospital is a 38-licensed bed adult unit caring for both voluntary and involuntary patients with a mental illness. Our multidisciplinary treatment team consists of Nurses, Behavioral Health Technicians, Case Managers, Occupational and Recreational Therapists, Psychiatrists, a Nurse Practitioner, and a Clinical Psychologist. The unit has an engaged leadership team of the Director of Behavioral Health Services, Nurse Manager, Assistant Clinical Manager, and Unit Educator.

Responsibilities

• Care for both voluntary and involuntary patients with a mental illness under the supervision of the multidisciplinary treatment team.
• Collaborate with other members of the treatment team to develop and implement individualized care plans.
• Provide direct patient care including medication management, therapy sessions, and other interventions as necessary.
• Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings to discuss patient progress and plan further care.
• Assist in the education and training of new staff members and students.
• Contribute to the development and maintenance of a safe and therapeutic environment for patients.

Requirements

• Graduation from an accredited school of nursing.
• Current licensure by the Michigan State Board of Nursing.
