Provides leadership in the coordination and delivery of quality compassionate patient care. Utilizes the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation to provide, delegate, supervise, and document care and teaching of patients and family. Effectively communicates pertinent patient/family information to the health care team. Participates in finding solutions for variances from patient goals and ensures implementation of solutions.
About The Unit
23-bed Ortho Unit specializes in treating the musculoskeletal system. Includes joint replacement, orthopedic trauma, back and spine surgery, orthopedic oncology, foot and ankle surgery, hand and upper extremity surgery, and sports medicine. Staff on this unit have the opportunity to help patients restore mobility and strength that they did not have before.
Schedule
- 36 hours per week
- Midnights 12-hour shifts
- Every other weekend and holiday rotations

Requirements
- Graduation from an accredited school of nursing; BSN preferred
- Clinical knowledge and analytical abilities necessary to formulate effective nursing care plans
- Ability to perform a wide variety of professional nursing services
- Ability to effectively communicate with patients, families, and hospital personnel
Qualifications
- Current licensure by the Michigan State Board of Nursing
