Registered Nurse
Patient Care
- Administer top-quality nursing care to patients and residents, ensuring the highest standards of practice.
- Conduct intake assessments, administer first aid and medications, and perform health screenings.
- Assist in developing and evaluating individualized care plans, tailored to the unique needs of each patient.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date health records for all patients, documenting changes in their condition and treatments provided.
- Collaborate with physicians, supervisors, and other healthcare staff to coordinate and implement effective patient care.
- Provide guidance and direction to LPNs, CNAs, and other staff members.
Administrative Duties
- Enter patient information into various electronic systems.
- Ensure adherence to healthcare policies and regulations.
- Communicate urgent medical needs to relevant personnel.
Education and Training
- Participate in the orientation and training of new staff.
Minimum Qualifications
- Licensure/Certifications: Current West Virginia license or temporary permit to practice as a registered nurse.
- Experience: None required.

William R. Sharpe, Jr. Hospital, located in Weston, West Virginia, is a 200-bed acute psychiatric care facility owned and operated by the West Virginia Department of Health Facilities. William R. Sharpe, Jr. Hospital holds accreditation from The Joint Commission and certification by the Centers for Medicaid and Medicare Services (CMS). The hospital offers a wide range of services to patients either committed to the hospital through civil commitment or, in the case of forensic patients, ordered through the judicial system.
