Job Summary
You will deliver compassionate, high-quality care in our Emergency Department, a second-largest facility in Washington state. Collaborate with doctors, nurses, ED techs, and social workers to provide emergency care. The department is equipped with advanced technology and resources, including a helipad for helicopter transfers.
Responsibilities
- Deliver individualized, comprehensive care, make critical assessments, perform skilled procedures, and implement patient care plans.
- Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to contribute to dynamic environments focused on optimal patient outcomes.
- Leverage assessment skills, critical thinking, and a patient-first mindset to support patient recovery and career advancement.
- Adhere to department and hospital policies and procedures, including safety, risk management, and regulatory standards.
- Administer, oversee, and document the administration of medications as ordered by healthcare practitioners.
- Absorb and evaluate patient data to identify physical, psychosocial, cultural, behavioral/emotional, developmental, and spiritual needs.
- Implement appropriate patient interventions and evaluate outcomes based on initial and ongoing assessments.
- Plan care based on identified needs and prepare patients for discharge, coordinating post-discharge needs.
- Demonstrate cultural sensitivity and competence, using communication tools and materials effectively.
- Provide care to specific patient populations, demonstrating knowledge and proper skills.
- Engage in opportunities for professional growth and self-accountability to meet deadlines for mandatory requirements.
- Document care delivered and patient status using the nursing process, according to FHS standards of care.
- Receive and ensure the appropriateness, accuracy, timeliness, and execution of physician orders.
Requirements
- Graduation from an accredited school of nursing upon hire.
- New graduate or RNs without E.D. or Critical Care experience AND successful completion of the E.D. residency program.
- Registered Nurse: WA, upon hire.
- Basic Life Support - CPR, upon hire.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support, within 60 Days.
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support, within 12 months.
- Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course, within 12 months.
- Trauma Nurse Core Course, within 12 months.
- Bachelor's of Science Nursing preferred, and one year of related work experience in an acute care setting, upon hire.
- Previous E.D. experience current within the last 2 years or Critical care experience, current within the last 2 years.
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program, upon hire.
- Certified Emergency Nurse, upon hire.
