Registered Nurse

JOB REQUIREMENTS

• Affirms the highest degree of quality resident care.
• Maintains a safe environment for residents.
• Assists with activities of daily living.
• Offers emotional and social support.
• Ensures resident's overall physical comfort and wellbeing.
• Communicates between medical providers, family members, and facility team.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Affirms the condition of residents and responds appropriately.
• Communicates resident needs or condition changes to relevant parties.
• Reviews and updates resident care plans; documents accordingly.
• Collaborates with other staff on care plan staffing, sessions, and family interactions.
• Performs treatments such as dressing changes, catheter care, etc.
• Reviews and administers medications; communicates with physician and family as needed.
• Reports significant changes in resident condition to supervisors and physicians.
• Executes physician’s orders; compiles information for physician reviews.
• Prioritizes, organizes, and directs care of residents.
• Verifies narcotics counts; requests medications from pharmacy; enters new orders; transcribes and faxes orders; pulls medication.
• Trains and orientates new Household Assistants.
• Provides backup assistance to other department personnel as needed.

OTHER EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS

• Previous experience working with the elderly or disabled population groups preferred.
• Previous experience or training in behavior management or rehabilitative principles.
• Previous experience in a lead role.
• Must possess or obtain CPR/First Aid certification upon hire.
